Where good news shines

Colorado School of Mines volleyball had a big week -- and was rewarded for it.

Orediggers standouts Jenna McLaughlin and Hailee Martinez were named RMAC players of the week Tuesday. They were joined by Hadleigh Richardson of Adams State.

McLaughlin helped the Orediggers open 4-0 for the first time since 2018 with 23 blocks and 21 block assists last weekend. She averaged 1.35 blocks per set to help Mines beat South Dakota Mines and Valdosta State.

Martinez had 164 assists in wins over South Dakota Mines, Davenport, Valdosta State and Grand Valley State, an average of 9.65 assists per set. She had 40 assists and 11 digs in the match against Grand Valley State.

Colorado School of Mines plays at the Northwest Nazarene tournament in Nampa, Idaho, from Thursday through Saturday.
