MAAC tournament in Atlantic City
Beginning this year, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's and women's basketball championship field will feature the league's top 10 teams. This marks the first time in the league's 44-year history that the championship will not include every conference team.
This is the sixth year the tournament has been held in Atlantic City.
Start times and dates are noon and 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall, 2301 Boardwalk. Tickets are $17 and $22 for the competitions that begin at noon and 1:30 p.m. and $22 and $32 for the contests that start later in the day. Tickets are available at ticketmaster.com.

The Freedom Fund Banquet is the NAACP Cape May County's annual fundraiser, which supports the organization's work and assists those in need.
The speaker will be Janis Washington White, author of "Erasing Bias from the Classroom," a book that exposes hidden bias in educational environments.
Cape May County NAACP's fifth annual Freedom Fund Gala will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Wildwoods Convention Center, 4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood. Tickets are $150 per person and include a cocktail hour, dinner, an awards banquet and dancing.

Surfrajettes live in Atlantic City
The Surfrajettes are a four-piece instrumental combo from Toronto. The band, which formed in 2015, performs a mix of psychedelic rock and reverb-drenched surf music with sky-high beehives, go-go boots and eyeliner as thick as their guitar strings.
The Surfrajettes and opening act the Black Widows will perform at 8 p.m. Friday at Anchor Rock Club, 247 S. New York Ave., Atlantic City. Doors open at 7 p.m. The show is for ages 18 and older. Advance general admission tickets are $20 and available at anchorrockclub.com.
Traditional Irish music in Ocean City
McDermott's Handy, the husband-wife duo of Kathy DeAngelo and Dennis Gormley, have been performing traditional Irish music together in the Delaware Valley since 1979.
They will perform a free concert at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Chris Maloney Lecture Hall at the Ocean City Free Public Library, 1735 Simpson Ave. Seating is limited. Registration is suggested at oceancityartscenter.org.
Jazz for kids at Rowan
Oran Etkin takes children on a journey around the world, exploring different instruments and cultures and discovering how vibrant global cultures form the backbone of American music and society.
Timbalooloo: Jazz for kids begins at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Pfleeger Concert Hall, Wilson Hall, Rowan University, 201 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro, Gloucester County.
Tickets are free for those 12 and younger; $20 for seniors 55 and older, Rowan alumni and employees, active and retired military, non-Rowan students, Glassboro residents and those needing ADA accessible seats; and $30 general admission. Tickets are available at cpa.rowan.edu.
