A few years ago, most Taylor Swift fans probably didn't know the Kelce brothers, but things changed very quickly in 2023. The 35-year-old pop star began dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and the world realized that his brother, Jason, was also married to a powerhouse woman. Kylie Kelce has entered her most influential era.
Swifties have plenty of reasons to brag about their favorite singer. Her record-setting Eras Tour generated $2,077,618,725 in ticket sales alone, per The New York Times, and she gave $197 million in bonuses to her cast and crew. Let's just say, this was a massive achievement on many levels. Add in her romance with Travis, and it's easy to say that Swift nailed the assignment in 2024 - but she wasn't the only one.
Kylie also entered the chat this year with her own podcast, Not Gonna Lie, which quickly toppled The Joe Rogan Experience on Spotify and Apple Podcasts charts in its debut week. As much as the mom of three, with one on the way, has the right to brag, she's staying humble with her impressive accomplishments. "I'm focused on putting out content that people like to consume," she told The New York Times on Thursday, Dec. 19. "If that puts us there for a week, cool. If it puts us there for longer than that, cool. But I also don't need to feed any conflict that's created by it."
That means no public feud with Rogan, whose sometimes controversial comments and passionate fans fuel the social media feeds. She doesn't seem flummoxed by people who don't agree with her either. Kylie just wants to be Kylie. "I mean this in the most respectful way," she added. "I don't care what other people have to say." With Swift giving the Kelce family an even bigger platform than they already had in athletic circles, Kylie has learned to embrace her newfound influence positively. It's almost like she could see it coming in November 2023 when she spoke to Kansas City's Spectrum News.
"It's not particularly my cup of tea to be in the spotlight or in front of a camera, I was a communication major in college. I love to be behind it -- that's my bread and butter," she explained. "But at the end of the day, if it creates opportunities like this where we can leverage my network and figure out how to impact a community that has been so, so kind to the entire Kelce family, I'm so happy to be able to give back to Kansas City in this way."
It makes us wonder what 2025 will look like for the entire Kelce clan now that the Eras Tour has officially wound down. It might be Kylie's turn to take the lead while Swift enjoys some much-deserved rest, but one thing is clear - the women's success is being celebrated by the Kelce men.
