Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen were the stars of the show as Nigeria sailed through to the knockout stages with a win against Tunisia, while Uganda vs Tanzania ends in a draw.
Nigeria took on Tunisia on Saturday (27 December) at the Fez Stadium in Morocco in the group stages of the Africa Cup of Nations.
At this point, it was smooth sailing for Nigeria until Tunisian defender Montassar Talbi scored with just over 15 minutes remaining to rattle the Super Eagles. The Carthage Eagles were handed another chance from the penalty spot which Ali Al-Abdi converted with 3 minutes to go, and they took the game to 3-2.
Nigeria held on to their advantage to the end however to take all three points which means they are now through to the round of 16.
In the other Group C game, Uganda played out a 1-1 draw with Tanzania in a crunch East African derby.
