The following story should surprise exactly nobody. On Wednesday, Chuck Schumer attempted to compel the release of the Trump/Epstein files. He did that by forcing a vote on the Senate floor. Well, of course, you can fill in the blanks on THIS one. The vote failed. It was 51-49. Almost ALL Republicans, including Little Miss, Susan Collins, and Little Miss Lisa Murkowski, voted against releasing them.
The two senators (Murkowski and Collins) will likely soon voice their concern even as they take steps to ensure the Epstein files are not released. That will be tough. If the GOP thinks they can hide this story under a bed, they are living in delusions. The fact is, these trump files WILL be released, so they should take off their VERY faux concerned pink-rose covered glasses and live HERE in reality.
Josh Hawley and Rand Paul joined with Democrats to vote for the release. Many Republicans called the vote a 'stunt." If you ask me, the GOP is the one offering you stunts. They are hard at work, alright, but all their concentration is going into protecting their leader, he who must not be named (in files anyway), he whom they must obey no matter what, he who has turned the whole GOP wing of the Senate AND House into a bad joke with Republicans being the punchline.
One DOES have to wonder what types of excuses Collins and Murkowski, the so-called moderates and present queens of co-dependence, will come up with. WHO do they think they're fooling? Not US. The GOP's excuses for not releasing the files are becoming wilder and wilder. Collins especially should know better since she is about to enter the toughest reelection campaign of her life, as she will be judged by her fellow Mainers who listen to the sounds of the sea as their guide, while Susie listens to the sound of the Trump swamp as HER guide.
Lisa Murkowski, too, is tarnishing her name because of the swamp. But still, at some point, these files WILL get out. Political secrets are, after all, like tsunami's. They may take a while to manifest themselves fully, but once they do, all sorts of chaos can result.
