The world's most famous hot dog on wheels is traveling the country this year, and West Michigan will be one of several tour stops.
Coined an American icon, the 27-foot-long hot dog car is gaming to "meat up" with fans across the region this week through Friday, Jan. 10.
The Wienermobile made its first stop at the Grand Rapids Children's Museum on Sunday. The original vehicle, built in 1936, initially traveled the streets of Chicago to promote Oscar Mayer hot dogs.
At all events, people can expect to get a picture with the traveling hot dog, learn more about its history and walk away with a special "Wiener Whistle." Keep scrolling to see where it will be stationed around Grand Rapids and Muskegon for the remainder of the week.
If locals and visitors miss the "Wienermobile," a 1952 Wienermobile is on permanent display at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.
