The Riverside County Board of Supervisors approved a wildlife management agreement for the five county-operated airports, including French Valley Airport and Hemet-Ryan Airport. The supervisors' 5-0 vote on November 18 approved a five-year agreement between the county's Transportation Land Management Agency and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The agreement also includes work plans for the French Valley, Hemet‑Ryan, Jacqueline Cochran, Chiriaco Summit, and Blythe airports. In September 2014, the Federal Aviation Administration gave the county a grant to conduct a wildlife assessment at French Valley Airport, Hemet-Ryan Airport, and Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport (which is in Thermal).
