CNG Supply Crisis Averted in Mumbai: Relief for Motorists as Gas Flow Restored | Headlines

The gas supply to Mahanagar Gas Limited's station in Wadala, Mumbai, was restored after a two-day disruption, bringing relief to motorists in Mumbai and nearby areas. The disruption impacted CNG availability at pumps causing long queues, especially affecting taxis and auto-rickshaws. Normalcy is expected to return by Wednesday.

In a major relief for Mumbai's motorists, the supply of CNG to the Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) station in Wadala was restored Tuesday afternoon. This development comes after gas supply was disrupted for two days due to damage to a major pipeline.

According to the Petrol Dealers Association, the situation is expected to normalize by Wednesday. The setback originating on Sunday put significant pressure on MGL's supply, leading to extended wait times at CNG pumps.

Gas flow disruption, caused by damage to the main supply pipeline inside the Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers compound, has now been rectified, MGL stated. Although CNG pumps in Mumbai faced an upsurge in demand, the overall piped gas supply to households remained unaffected.
