In their first collaboration with Drake, Atlanta-based Hip-Hop group Migos wrote a hook called "walk it like I talk it." It essentially is a play on the phrase, "talk the talk, and walk the walk," it means practice what you preach and allow your actions to back up your words.
What a great metaphor for the 2025 Los Angeles Dodgers.
Every year in spring, the Dodgers reiterate the same talk: "World Series or bust."
In 2024, they finally talked the talk and walked the walk.
The Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees in five games in the 2024 World Series to be crowned Champions for the second time in five years, and the first title in a non-COVID shortened season since 1988.
The team finally got their long-deserved parade down Vin Scully Ave, and celebrated with their fans inside a packed house at Dodger Stadium with a performance by Ice Cube.
And if the Dodgers dominated they fall, they surpassed it in the Winter.
Los Angeles crushed the offseason by adding two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell, prize Japanese pitcher Roki Sasaki, All-Star closer Tanner Scott, and more.
Coupled with the re-signing of Clayton Kershaw, Enrique Hernández, and the beloved Teoscar Hernández, the 2025 Dodgers are well-equipped to defend their title and become the first back-to-back World Champions since the New York Yankees in 1999-2000.
For fans, new players provide an opportunity to get to know the unfamiliar faces that they will watch take the field each and every day for the next eight months. Part of that introductory process means learning about players' personalities through their interviews, social media, and musical tastes.
Each and every year, players select songs for them to walk-up to the batter's box. It could be the same one song each and every year, or several different songs throughout the game. Most players pick a new song or two with each new season. This year is no different.
For some players, you'll hear the same familiar song year after year -- cough, cough, Clayton Kershaw -- others, like to change it up constantly throughout the season. Some are superstitious with their walk-up music, and others just like what they like.
A player's walk-up music is often one of the most underrated aspects of the game of baseball. In a sport clouded by how much time is wasted, the walk-up song offers an opportunity for a player to not only entertain fans but also provide a window into their personal playlist.
Each and every year, NBC LA brings you the walk-up songs for your Los Angeles Dodgers and this year is no different as we strive to bring you the very best stories throughout the season hopefully leading to a ninth World Series title for the Boys in Blue.
This year's list is now updated following all the moves the Dodgers made at the MLB Trade Deadline. The official list comes courtesy of the Dodgers' in-house DJ, and is current as of this publication, but keep in mind that many players will change their music throughout the remainder of the season.
Therefore, without further ado, here are the tracks you'll be hearing blasting through the speakers at Chavez Ravine all season long.
