Heat's Davion Mitchell makes basketball history never done in NBA

Miami Heat guard Davion Mitchell doesn't receive enough love for his offensive skill set/contributions.

Although the Baylor product's physically imposing on-ball defense is the main reason he's competing at the highest level of basketball, he's far from a one-trick pony.

The 27-year-old is a quick-twitch, low-to-the-ground playmaker with a competent mid-range and three-point jumper, making him effective whenever the ball winds up in his hands.

After helping the Heat earn a 140-123 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night, the X/Twitter account 'Real Sports' revealed that Mitchell had made impressive NBA history.

"Davion Mitchell just had the highest TS% in game with a double-double in NBA HISTORY," the stats-based account stated.

Mitchell finished the Heat's 17-point victory with 16 points on 100% field goal shooting, 100% three-point shooting, and 133.3% true shooting.

As long as the former No. 9 overall pick continues to produce as the Heat's two-way starting point guard, head coach Erik Spoelstra will continue to roll with him in South Beach.

Mitchell has played an integral role in the Heat's surprising 14-7 start to the year, averaging 9.7 points and 7.6 assists per game while connecting on 49.7% of his field goals and 35.8% of his perimeter jumpers.

The NCAA champion's recent historic feat should motivate him to keep his foot on the gas with the three-time NBA champions.
