Strictly's Vicky Pattison says 'I'll cry' as she makes emotional Blackpool plea | Devon Live

The star has revealed why she is determined to make it to Blackpool Week in the BBC ballroom competition

Strictly Come Dancing's Vicky Pattison became emotional as she shared her heartfelt desire to reach Blackpool in tribute to her late grandparents.

The reality TV star has made it to the halfway stage of the BBC ballroom competition, where she is partnered with professional dancer Kai Widdrington. This weekend's episode will decide which celebrities advance to perform in the iconic Tower Ballroom in Blackpool.

During an appearance on spin-off programme It Takes Two on Friday (November 14), Vicky became visibly moved whilst discussing the significance of reaching Blackpool Week, reports Wales Online.

"I feel like I'll cry here," the former I'm A Celebrity champion confessed. "Oh God," she added as tears began to well up.

"My grandma and granddad were - and I'm obviously very biased - but just the best people in the world.

"They are sadly no longer with me but Strictly was my grandma's favourite show and like, it doesn't matter how many jungles I won or how many helicopters I fell out of backwards, she just didn't think, I don't think, she wouldn't have thought I'd made it until I did Strictly."

She continued: "I know she would have been my biggest supporter in this journey because she herself loved to dance.

"So they used to always dance. They were beautiful dancers and they danced in Blackpool themselves so this is a real, a real emotional moment for me and I'm going to give it my all this weekend and hope I get through."

Vicky shared that she always gave her all in the ballroom competition, but told It Takes Two host Fleur East: "I think I've got an extra little bit of fire in my belly this week for them."

She also expressed how much she's loving the Strictly experience, hoping to maintain lifelong friendships with her fellow contestants.

She explained: "I sound a bit soppy, but maybe I am a bit soppy, but I'm still friends with Ferne (McCann) and I was in the jungle with her 10 years ago. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we're going to be."
