Dharmendra discharged from hospital

Dharmendra has been discharged from Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital after being admitted for breathing difficulties, Indian media reported on Wednesday.

The 89-year-old actor will continue his treatment at home under medical supervision, confirmed Dr Pratit Samdani from Breach Candy Hospital.

"Dharmendra ji has been discharged from the hospital around 7:30 am. He will be treated at home as the family has decided to continue his care there," Dr Samdani said.

The actor's family, including wife and MP Hema Malini and daughter Esha Deol, visited the hospital earlier this week and have urged fans and media outlets to refrain from spreading false news about his health.

Esha Deol also took to social media to share that her father is recovering well. "Papa is fine and resting at home now. Please don't believe any unverified reports," she wrote.

Dharmendra, one of Hindi cinema's most beloved stars known for classics like Sholay, Chupke Chupke and Phool Aur Patthar, had been hospitalised earlier this week following complaints of breathlessness.

Yesterday, Esha Deol firmly denied reports claiming that her father, veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, has passed away.

In a brief statement, Esha urged fans and media outlets not to spread misinformation.

"Papa is doing well and responding positively to treatment. Please don't believe any false news," she said.

The 89-year-old actor, fondly known as the He-Man of Bollywood, was admitted to the hospital earlier this week due to age-related health concerns.

Several unverified reports falsely claimed that Dharmendra had passed away, leading to confusion among fans and fellow celebrities.

Esha's clarification has now put an end to those rumours.

Dharmendra, whose illustrious career spans over six decades and more than 300 films, remains one of Indian cinema's most cherished icons.

He is best known for his unforgettable roles in classics such as Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Phool Aur Patthar, Seeta Aur Geeta, and Yaadon Ki Baaraat.

Known for his rugged charm, emotional depth, and humility, Dharmendra continues to inspire generations of actors. Fans and well-wishers across the world have expressed relief and sent prayers for his speedy recovery.

Born Dharmendra Singh Deol on December 8, 1935, in Punjab's Ludhiana district, he rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most successful and admired stars in Indian film history.

Dharmendra's on-screen chemistry with Hema Malini became iconic, and their real-life love story added another chapter to his stardom.

The couple married in 1980 and went on to become one of Bollywood's most admired duos.

Dharmendra also served as a Member of Parliament from Bikaner, Rajasthan, from 2004 to 2009, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
