Jason Day shares the key element that he looks for while trying a new equipment

Jason Day made a significant change to his golf equipment at last week's Bank of Utah Championship. The Australian golfer competed at the fall season event.

He played with 3D-printed Avoda Golf Irons and, ahead of the start of the event, opened up about his golf gear. He said that after the event, he would be looking forward to seeing what needs to be "improved" in his game.

"After this week, we're obviously going to get back together and see what needs to kind of be improved," Day said. "I think, currently right now, I would like to see a little bit - a tiny bit more offset. Try and get a little bit more turn. If that has a little bit more offset, it will actually elevate the ball a little bit more in the air, which would be nice."

Jason Day also used the JumboMax JMX Zen Lite grips and KBS graphite shafts at the tournament. Speaking of his equipment, he said:

"The theory I think I have the same profile shaft from 60-degree all the way up to driver. The goal is to be able to swing, just pretty much have one swing like whatever ball flight you want, whether that's a draw or a fade. For me it's a draw. To go up there and hit a draw and pretty much put the same swing on it and hopefully it produces the same shot over and over again."

With the new equipment in his bag, Jason Day delivered a decent performance. He had a good start with an opening round of 68, but then struggled in the second round and carded a 72. However, he made the cut. Over the weekend, he played the final two rounds of 67 and 65 and settled in a tie for 20th place.

Jason Day is committed to playing at the Grant Thornton Invitational. He will be joining Lydia Ko in the upcoming team event, which is scheduled to take place in December at the Tiburón Golf Club.

The tournament features 16 teams, and alongside Day, Tony Finau, Billy Horschel, Keith Mitchell, and Tom Hoge will also tee off at the event.

Meanwhile, this season on the PGA Tour, Jason Day has played in 17 tournaments and made the cut in 14. He recorded four finishes in the top 10.

Some of his notable finishes are T4 at the Travelers Championship, T8 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and T3 at The American Express.
