OREANDA-NEWS Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov commented on the statement of the British edition of The Guardian about the international song contest "Intervision" in Russia. He is quoted by RIA Novosti.
Prior to that, a British newspaper published an article saying that Russia was "dusting off the old competition." In response, Lavrov said that Britain had "nothing to dust off."
"The British no longer have anything to dust off, there is nothing left. Unfortunately, they continue to undermine contacts between people," the Foreign Minister stressed.
On September 16, Lavrov announced that Armenian performers would not be present as participants at Intervision, although Russia would be glad to see them.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the XI St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures that the Russian Federation was grateful to like-minded people who supported the idea of resuming Intervision.
