Rural Metro responds to house fire in West Knox County, no injuries reported

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Fire crews responded to a house fire at Kingston Pike and Cranwood Drive Sunday morning, according to the Rural Metro Fire Department.

According to Rural Metro, crews arrived to the scene at approximately 10 a.m. to find a kitchen fire with heavy smoke. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire and keep the damage contained in the kitchen. All occupants made it safely outside of the house and were assisted by the American Red Cross.

Rural Metro asks residents to use extreme caution with secondary heat sources and never leave them unattached.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
