Man rushed to hospital after stabbing near New Cross park

A man has been rushed to hospital after a stabbing near a park in New Cross.

Police have cordoned multiple roads in New Cross after a stabbing on Clifton Rise yesterday (December 9) at 9.37pm.

Medics arrived in four minutes after first being called.

He was treated at the scene and rushed to hospital as a priority.

At the time of reporting, his condition is unknown.

Along with Clifton Rise, large sections have been taped off including Fordham Park and Achilles Street.

There has particularly been a heavy police presence in the park.

The Metropolitan Police has been approached for further information.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 9.37pm on Tuesday 9 December to reports of a stabbing on Clifton Rise, SE14.

"We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London's Air Ambulance.

"Our first paramedic arrived in four minutes.

"We treated a man for stab wounds and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority."
