Stray Cat Walks Into Woman's Garage, She's Unprepared for What Happens Next

After hearing meowing coming from outside, a cat owner and rescuer went to check if the feline needed help. What she found him doing has left internet users in stitches.

In a viralTikTok shared in January under the username @poetssquarecats, she says that she found the black cat checking out the pet bed out in the porch, which she thought was very cute, until she realized what he was doing on it.

"He was actually just peeing on it," the poster says in the clip. "Since then, this cat has been taunting me by yowling on my roof all night, and peeing on absolutely everything."

The cat kept coming back again and again, peeing on all of her stuff for no reason, so she decided to catch him.

"It took a while, you can see it's dark now, but our cat finally went under that trap, and I got him. I've been calling him the Pee Man, surely we can come up with a better name, but today he's getting neutered."

Dr. Jamie Richardson, chief medical officer at Small Door Veterinary in New York City, told Newsweek that Pee Man's behavior highlights classic territorial marking, common in unneutered male cats.

"Intact males have high testosterone levels, driving them to spray urine as a way to establish dominance and communicate with other cats in the area. The strong scent marks territory and signals their presence to both rival males and potential mates," Richardson said.

"Neutering significantly reduces or eliminates this behavior, making it an important step for managing roaming and unwanted marking."

Neutering or spaying a cat is very important for a variety of reasons, according to British animal charity, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).

Having your cat fixed not only helps prevent unwanted litters, and address their aggression (in males), but it also improves their health, by reducing the risk of getting mammary tumors and uterine infections in females, and the risk of testicular cancer and prostate problems in males.

The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 1.3 million views and more than 253,000 likes on the platform.

One user, Fenni, commented: "Someone else said PeePaw and I've been crying laughing for like 5 minutes about it. hi peepaw."

Erik posted: "He's so mad you caught him. Personally a big fan of sprinkler for the name lol."

FiyaPoop added: "The way I 'heh heh heh'ed after you said he was getting neutered."

Newsweek reached out to @poetssquarecats for comment via email. We could not verify the details of the case.
