U.S. Department of Defense Grants Baker Hughes 'Awardable' Status for Development of Geothermal Power Solutions
March 12, 2025HOUSTON and LONDON - March 12, 2025 - Baker Hughes, an energy technology company, announced Wednesday that it was selected by the U.S. Air Force and the Department of Defense's Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) to explore opportunities to tap into America's abundant geothermal energy supply to enhance the country's national security.
Having achieved "Awardable" status, Baker Hughes can now explore developing utility-scale geothermal power plants to supply U.S. military bases around the globe with reliable and cost-effective electricity, even during a grid outage.
