Babel Street wins contract from a major defense agency in Asia - Intelligence Community News

On December 23, Babel Street announced that it has been awarded a contract by a major defense agency in Asia to deliver advanced tools that enhance government screening and investigations. The organization will integrate Babel Street's flagship solutions, Insights and Match, with its existing systems and workflows to provide greater speed, precision, and operational effectiveness at scale.

With continued uncertainty in the South China Sea, Asian nations' defense forces need accurate, timely, and comprehensive intelligence to enhance decision-making, safeguard national security, anticipate supply chain disruptions, and detect both local and global risks. The defense organization selected Babel Street for its ability to access and unify diverse data sources, process information across multiple languages, and provide actionable intelligence through a user-friendly, flexible interface, the company said.

"This collaboration highlights the critical role of an integrated data analytics platform in modern defense operations," said Michael Southworth, CEO of Babel Street. "Our flexible platform is purpose-built to address the unique challenges of government screening and investigations by removing blind spots found in traditional methods and equipping defense organizations with the tools they need to act swiftly and decisively."

Babel Street Insights and Babel Street Match deliver a rapid 360-degree approach to screening and investigations. Babel Street Insights provides critical capabilities like bulk document and people searches, sentiment and violent-intent analysis, network mapping, and persistent, real-time alerts, enabling decision-makers to anticipate and mitigate risks. Babel Street Match reduces false positives by up to 75% in government screening operations with accurate matching of person and organization names. It seamlessly manages diverse Asian language scripts, including Japanese Kanji, Chinese Hanzi, Korean Hangul, and Thai, among others, with near-native precision.
