Holiday travel is at an all-time high this year.
A record 8.03 million travelers will take domestic flights this holiday season, which is a 2.3% increase compared to 2024 holiday travel, with Florida, Southern California, and Hawaii being the top domestic destinations.
American Airlines said it's planning for four flights to depart each minute over its holiday period! Wow!
With so many people traveling, there is definitely going to be an increase in pets taking to the skies too.
Unlike their human companions, some pets may be a little less familiar with flying so they actually do pay attention when the flight attendant gives the safety procedure speech before takeoff.
This Jack Russell Terrier was definitely paying attention to the flight attendant on a recent flight as she indicated where the exits were in case of an emergency.
He was very sure to pay attention to how to put on the inflatable vest.
The flight attendant even noticed how diligently this little dog was paying attention so she said to him, "You watch!"
His parent, whose lap he was sitting in, said in the voice of the dog, "Just making sure I got this down."
The Jack Russell looks like he was literally the only one watching, and it is adorable.
And if there is an emergency, he'll be prepared! Airplane safety is important!
Are Dogs Allowed To Not Be in a Carrier on Flights?
You may be wondering why this little dog was allowed to be out of her carrier during the flight.
It mainly depends on which flight attendants are working your flight that day.
These airlines allow dogs in the cabin, but each has specific regulations and rules for pet travel, so definitely read up on them before you book.
