I'm A Celeb's Angry Ginge dubbed 'role model' for young men after jungle admission | Wales Online

Angry Ginge is winning over a new generation of fans during his time on I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, and his latest revelation has garnered even more admiration. Life coach, author and influencer Michelle Elman, known for her books 'The Joy of Being Selfish' and 'Bad Friend,' expressed that she found Angry Ginge's admission about being sober to be incredibly significant.

She described it as "actually game-changing" that the "24-year-old man" had specifically stated: "I don't need alcohol in order to have a personality." While it may seem like a straightforward statement, it carries a lot of weight. This is due to the numerous boys and young men who look up to him and will take his words to heart.

Michelle commented: "In a society and a culture that is so focused on pub culture, drinking culture, binge drinking culture in particular [his words are so important]".

She noted that "having those three generations talk about their own experiences, all slightly different, and being open about the stigma they face for being boring for not drinking is huge".

As a life coach, Michelle revealed that one of the main insecurities she encounters is people becoming sober and then "worrying about dating".

This is particularly true when they're single, because "someone might find them unattractive" for not appearing to let loose.

She also mentioned that people fear they won't secure a second date with someone because "they're teetotal" or because they opt to "drink less".

Michelle added: "Having this openness on TV, especially for someone who is very popular with younger men, it's demonstrating that you can be cool, you can be popular, and you can be sober."

The writer believes the ITV programme is "at its best" when showcasing significant conversations people are having in real life. Judging by the response on her Instagram, viewers were equally moved by the moment.

In the comments section, one person wrote: "I loved seeing the conversation around sobriety (as someone is over two years in) and how they were all so honest and open about it. Hopefully it makes a difference to someone younger than me!"

Another gushed: "Angry Ginge is HUGE for the younger male demographic. He's a fantastic role model and on a program that's extremely popular.

"Both my daughters are in relationships with boys (18 and 20), and they are far too cool to watch this usually. However, both are LOCKED IN to watch Angry Ginge and defo agree with what you say".

A third said: "He's absolutely brilliant. My 14-year-old boy absolutely loves him. And has actually been watching I'm a Celeb with me.

"He barely comes out of his room normally. Ginge is an absolute sweetheart, so is Aitch, two great role models for young men and teenage boys".
