Baffled Gogglebox fans slam Abbie and Georgia over 'embarrassing' blunder - Manchester Evening News

Gogglebox's Abbie Lynn and Georgia Bell have split opinion amongst their supporters following an "embarrassing" mistake.

The close friends initially appeared on the Channel 4 programme in 2018 - and it's safe to say they quickly became viewer favourites.

Throughout the years, Georgia - who recently became engaged to her long-term boyfriend - and Abbie have entertained audiences from their Durham residence, delivering laugh-out-loud moments with their witty remarks and amusing reactions to television content.

Beyond the show, the duo regularly keep their collective 204k Instagram supporters informed about their everyday activities. This week, the pair posted a clip on Gogglebox's Instagram page - however, it failed to impress certain followers, reports the Mirror.

During the video, Georgia tested Abbie's general knowledge through a quiz. The opening question asked how many spouses Henry VIII had, with Abbie answering: "Eight," prompting Georgia to respond: "No."

Abbie retorted: "That's why he's called Henry VII?". Georgia clarified: "No he was the eighth Henry." She then posed the question: "How many minutes are there in two hours."

Whilst attempting to work it out, Abbie responded: "One thousand and two hundred," and when questioned whether this was accurate, Georgia replied: "No! Not even close."

For the final question, Abbie was asked: "What is the largest organ in the human body?" She responded: "The brain," before Georgia corrected her with the right answer: "It's your skin."

A perplexed Abbie exclaimed: "Your skin's an organ? !" Georgia then declared: "And that is your quiz over," as Abbie interjected: "That was horrible." Georgia informed her: "You got none right. None."

However, Abbie wasn't too bothered as she joked: "Never mind! Can we get to watching telly now?" To which Georgia replied: "I think that's for the best."

Abbie and Georgia's video sparked a mixed reaction, with some viewers rushing to the comments section to express their disbelief at the mistake. One person commented: "How embarrassing."

Another vented: "OMG really? ! ? !" A third remarked: "Seriously, she has to be putting it on?" A fourth also wrote: "Gotta love Abby but she isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer! ! ! ! Bless her! ! ! !".

Despite this, other fans were left in stitches and praised the duo. One person said: "Love these two. They always make me laugh with what they come out with." Another fan enthused: "Don't you just love those girls." A third chimed in: "This is brilliant. Love you both."
