New programme to help people into 'long-lasting careers' to start in 2026

Nearly 500 people are set to take part in a new programme designed to help secure meaningful jobs.

Highlanders with disabilities, health conditions and employment barriers will be part of Enable Works' 'All In' model from 2026.

Established in 2015, it is already running in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeenshire and Moray.

The programme has seen 42 per cent moving into employment and 76 per cent still in work after 12 months.

It is being delivered in partnership with Barnardo's Works, Calman Trust, Lochaber Hope, Merkinch Partnership, New Start Highland, Pulteneytown People's Project and Street League.

Support will be offered in accessible venues in local communities, making it easier for people, including those in remote and rural areas, to get the help they need close to home.

The partnership will offer support, including specialist services for people with disabilities, flexible support for parents and sector-based academies which provide training in retail, logistics and hospitality skills.

Ashley Ryan, director of Enable Works, said: "All In Highlands represents the next step in our commitment to ensuring every person in Scotland has the opportunity to access meaningful work, no matter where they live.

"Together, we will support people not only to move into work, but to build secure and lasting careers.

"By working side-by-side with trusted local partners, we can bring together world-class employability practice with deep community insight to create real, measurable change for people across the Highlands."
