Boom completes UK solar farm sales

Firsfield and Osgodby move to Enray Power

Boom Power has completed the sale of Firsfield solar farm in West Suffolk and Osgodby solar farm in North Yorkshire to Enray Power.

The company said the sales mark a milestone in its mission to accelerate delivery of high-integrity renewable energy infrastructure across the UK.

Firsfield solar farm spans approximately 237 acres and has an installed capacity of approximately 71MWp with an export capacity of up to 46.9MW, Boom Power said.

According to the company, the West Suffolk project was granted planning permission on 30 April 2024 with no objections from statutory consultees and includes biodiversity enhancements such as habitat creation and skylark mitigation.

Osgodby solar farm spans 166 acres and will generate up to 42.9MW of electricity over a 40-year period, Boom Power said, adding that planning approval was granted on 15 July 2022.

Boom Power head of planning Jack Spurway said: "From day one we set a clear brief for both sites: robust design, thorough environmental assessment and genuine community engagement. Securing consent with strong biodiversity outcomes and a clear delivery pathway reflects that approach. We are pleased to see these high-quality projects move forward into the next phase."

The company said both projects reflect a commitment to responsible, design-led development and were selected for grid strength, land suitability and ecological value.

Boom Power said the sales form part of its strategy to originate, design and consent renewable projects before working with partners such as Enray Power to take them into delivery.

The company added that together the projects will deliver over 110MW of clean-energy capacity.

Boom Power founder Mark Hogan said: "We're incredibly proud to see both Firsfield and Osgodby progress to the next phase of their journey. These projects embody Boom Power's ethos - technical rigour, environmental responsibility, and long-term energy impact. Each site represents a tangible contribution to the UK's clean-energy future and a testament to the skill and dedication of our team."
