Fake beauty comes at a cost -- Queeneth Agbor

Actress, Queeneth Agbor, is of the opinion that the increasing number of women turning to cosmetic surgery to stay visible in Nollywood are only "complicating things for themselves".

Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, she said, "It's really sad how we pray and ask God for long life in good health, yet use our own hands to complicate the prayer just for a few years of fake beauty that's not even guaranteed.

"In all, I wish them luck. When the time is right, they'll use their tongue to count their teeth."

Reflecting on the sexualisation of actresses in the industry, Agbor stated that it persists because people want to make a name for themselves by all means, including selling their bodies.

"Of course, there's both societal and personal pressure. But the truth is, some people choose to place themselves under that pressure just to remain relevant in the public eye. Personally, I believe in staying true to yourself -- do you, and the world will adjust."

The actress who has often "clapped back" at social media trolls maintained that she has never regretted taking that step. These little demons have no soul. Celebrities need to have thick skins and match their evil fire for fire, without holding back."

As regards fans wanting to know every detail of a celebrity's private life, especially when it comes to relationships and scandals, Agbor said, "Actresses are humans, and we have full rights to our privacy. We don't owe the public anything when it comes to our personal lives."
